German football club RB Leipzig has confirmed that they have signed Ademola Lookman. Lookman, who used to play for Everton, has been drafted into the side for a five-year deal.

Lookman’s transfer from Everton to RB Leipzig is part of the deal which is worth €25million (£22.5m).

He spent the second half of the 2017-18 season on loan at Leipzig and is now set for a permanent return on this five-year contract.

Lookman, who plays forward, looked set to move out of the team ahead of the 2018-19 season, however, Everton refused to accept offers then as Marco Silva, the then Everton manager, spotted him as a vital member of the squad.

However, the youngster looked a pale shadow of himself during Silva’s first season as manager. He scored only one goal in 24 appearances for Everton.

“I am very happy to be back here and would like to continue where I left off in the second half of 2017-18 for RB Leipzig,” the 21-year-old said.

“Of course, I am also looking forward to seeing my team-mates again and would like to help the team to continue to celebrate great successes.”

Notably, Lookman’s arrival in Leipzig comes after the signing of Chelsea player Ethan Ampadu on loan for the forthcoming season.
