Authorities of Paradip Port, Odisha’s lone major port, celebrated 100 years of Indian Hockey and announced the establishment of a new hockey stadium at Paradip Port town, reaffirming the port’s commitment to promoting sports and nurturing young talent.

A thrilling hockey match between the Paradip Port Team and the Chatrapur Team was the highlight of the day, where Paradip Port Team emerged victorious with a 3–1 win.

The event was graced by port chairman P. L. Haranadh as the Chief Guest, and Himansu Sekhar Rout, Chief Engineer, Paradip Port Authority, as the Guest of Honour.

Outstanding contributors to Indian hockey were also felicitated on this occasion.

Miss Namita Toppo, Olympian and international player, was felicitated with a Rs 25,000 cash award while Miss Rashmita Minz, national player, was conferred a Rs 25,000 cash award.
