Nemanja Matic may be a newbie to Instagram, but the Serbian has proved his social media game is strong as his tongue-in-cheek post has revealed what Jose Mourinho’s note during the Manchester United’s win over Chelsea really said.

United were leading 2-1 thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard when central defender Eric Bailly came on in place of winger Alexis Sanchez in the 81st minute.

The fact that the Ivorian was making his first Premier League appearance in over three months brought plenty of cheer from the Old Trafford crowd, but TV cameras focused on the centre-back as he quickly handed Matic a note.

What the paper truly said will perhaps remain a mystery until someone from the United camp spills the beans but the incident was subjected to the ‘meme treatment’ by netizens as the Red Devils held on for a vital home win.

The tie held special meaning for Matic and Mournho, both formerly of Chelsea, as it was the first time the duo had gotten one over their former employers this season.

While Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal in 2016, Matic transferred to Old Trafford in the summer of 2017.

Matic’s move, in particular, did not go down well with the Blues faithful, who felt that selling a player who still has a lot to give to a direct rival isn’t the brightest move.

Chelsea’s top-four hopes were dealt a hammer blow with the loss as they now find themselves trailing the second-placed Red Devils by six points.

Tottenham Hotspur, in fourth place, lead the Blues by two points and with ten games left in the season, the race to make the UEFA Champions League spots is definitely going down to the wire.
