Following the devastating terror attack at singer Ariana Grande’s concert, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho expresssed sadness and condoled the victims' families.

"We are all very sad about the tragic events last night; we cannot take out of our minds and our hearts the victims and their families," the Portugese tactician was quoted as saying in a statement on the club website.

With United set to travel to Stockholm on Wednesday for the UEFA Europa League final against Dutch side Ajax, Mourinho stressed his team are focused on the job at hand despite the unsettling nature of the tragedy.

"We have a job to do and we will fly to Sweden to do that job.  It is a pity we cannot fly with the happiness that we always have before a big game,” he said.

The customary pre-match press conference was called off as a mark of respect for the ghastly terror attack, in which over 22 lives were lost.

"I know, even during my short time here, that the people of Manchester will pull together as one," the 54-year-old manager added.
