The entire world may be slanging Liverpool custodian Lorius Karius at every opportunity, but Mohamed Salah has voiced his support for his under-fire teammate on Twitter and simply asked him to ignore the haters.

Karius, after beating Simon Mingolet to the starting spot at Anfield, had a decent 2017/18 season right up until the 2018 UEFA Champions League final.

Against Real Madrid, however,  the German custodian committed two blunders and effectively cost his team a chance at tasting European glory.

In the summer, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that his player had suffered a concussion that likely played a part in his calamitous performances.

However, Karius seems to be struggling with the intense scrutiny of playing for a storied club such as Liverpool for he’s made gaffes in each of the Reds’ pre-season friendlies so far.

And the fact that the Merseyside outfit broke the bank to sign Alisson Becker hasn’t exactly helped matters.

The Brazilian custodian  arrived for a world-record fee (for a goalkeeper) of £66 million and is certain to become Klopp’s No.1 goalkeeper.

Speculation is mounting on Karius to leave the club after two underwhelming seasons as his first-team opportunities look limited at best.

In the midst of everything, Salah took time to tweet this:

The Egyptian winger knows what he’s talking about as his first stint in the Premier League ended in bitter disappointment. He hardly got to play under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, but managed to revive his career at Roma.

And while eyebrows were raised when Liverpool broke their transfer record to sign him for a fee of €50 million, the rest, as they say, is history.

Will Karius be able to recover from his nightmare 2018? It remains to be seen, but it looks certain the German won’t be doing it at Liverpool.
