Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi has claimed that he was a victim of racial abuse during their 1-0 Serie A away win against Cagliari.

Matuidi was seen complaining to the referee during the second half as he won a corner for the visitors on Saturday.

“Today I experienced racism during the match. Weak people try to intimidate with hate. I am not a hater and can only be sorry for those who set bad examples,” the 30-year-old French international wrote on Facebook.

“Football is a way to spread equality, passion and inspiration and this is what I am here for. Peace. Juventus #equalgame,” the former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star added.
