India’s left-hand opening batsman Ishan Kishan has made a double century in the ongoing third ODI between India and Bangladesh being played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

The 24-year-old took just 126 deliveries to smash the double ton. In terms of fewer balls taken to achieve the feat, Ishan Kishan became the first player to do so.

Earlier, the record of fastest double ton was held by West Indies’ flamboyant batsman Chris Gayle, who had taken 138 deliveries to hit double ton against Zimbabwe.  It was also Kishan’s maiden three-figure mark in international cricket.

After playing a stunning knock of 210 runs, Ishan was caught by Litton Das, bowled by Taskin Ahmed.

Before losing his wicket, Kishan also stitched a 200-run partnership with Virat Kohli.

Ishan came to bat after India lost their first wicket when another left-hand opener Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed on a measly score of three runs.
