Police demolish houses of two terrorists; detain around 2,500 OGWs across Kashmir

A day after a policeman was shot dead by terrorists in Anantnag, security forces demolished the houses of two active Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists and launched a massive crackdown across Kashmir, detaining hundreds of suspected overground workers (OGWs), even as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti questioned the legality and effectiveness of the measures.

As the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections got underway today, reports emerged from Patna of two women being denied their right to vote despite their names appearing on the official voters’ list and carrying valid voter ID cards.
