Colonel, Major among 40 Army men booked for alleged attack on Kishtwar police station

A major controversy has erupted in the Kishtwar district after Jammu and Kashmir Police registered an FIR against 40 Army personnel, including the Commanding Officer of the 17 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and a Major, over allegations of assaulting police personnel and damaging property at Police Station Atholi in the remote Paddar area, officials said on Thursday.

SC seeks Centre’s response on plea seeking to exclude doctors from ambit of Consumer Protection Act

The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought the response of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution to a public interest plea by the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) seeking the exclusion of medical professionals from the ambit of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
