Jose Mourinho, who is aiming a managerial comeback, is not willing to change his identity or his tendency to make eccentric decisions. He, in fact, insists that his fiery “identity” as a manager will remain the same when he returns to football.

Notably, the former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid manager has been out of professional football since Manchester United sacked him in December last year.

Mourinho has also reportedly stated that he wants his next job in one of Europe’s top clubs and is also open to the possibility of him returning to England, a place where his bold moves are always under media scrutiny.

A stressed relationship with his former team’s star Paul Pogba was first of the many reasons why Mourinho had to leave Manchester United. However, Mourinho is not ready to make any changes to his personality.

“You cannot lose your identity, you are who you are and honestly I am so happy with who I am,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.

“But there is a new period ahead of me, there is a new challenge, I think many challenges [are] ahead of me and honestly I look to that with more enthusiasm than looking back at what I did before.

“What I did, I did because I am so motivated. It is difficult to be, for the first time, without my football.”

He is, however, ready to make “a few” changes in his support staff whenever he gets an opportunity.

“I analyse different sports, I meet my future staff, because my future staff is going to be different to my previous staff because I thought it was the moment for a few changes,” he said.

“Nothing personal, of course not, but in relation to the knowledge, to the motivation, I think it’s a good moment to do that.

“I meet them, we speak, we analyse, we try to produce documentation to be the base for the next work, so we are always thinking,” he added.
