Football tournament by DVC

An inter-village football tournament league was organised in village Tubed. The tournament on 17-18 August, in which 90 players from six villages participated, was inaugurated by Arbind Kumar Thakur, manager of DVC Coal Mines. In his address, Mr Thakur highlighted the importance of sports in building morale, discipline and unity among the youth and assured DVC’s continued support for such community development efforts.

After several battles, Dihigaon and Mangragaon secured their places in the finals. The finals were played with great energy and competitive spirit. Both the teams displayed excellent skills and sportsmanship, which made the match very exciting for the spectators. In the end, Dehigaon beat Mangragaon 2-1 in a thrilling match to become the tournament champions.

On this occasion, manager Arbind Kumar Thakur, deputy general manager Deepak Kumar, deputy general manager Das, other DVC officials felicitated by giving away trophies, medals and gifts to the players of the winning and runner-up teams.
