Former South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs and Bollywood star Alia Bhatt engaged in a hilarious exchange on Twitter on Tuesday.

It all started on Monday when Gibbs tweeted: “Morning birds are tweeting so I’ll do the same and say have a good one folks”

The tweet was liked by Twitter’s handle, and Gibbs then posted: “That feeling when @Twitter likes your tweet,” with a GIF that featured Alia Bhatt.

This tweet by the cricketer took the internet by storm with Indian netizens asking Gibbs if he knew who the person in the GIF was. To this, the 45-year-old replied: “I have no idea who the lady is.”

However, with the reactions on the tweet rapidly increasing, Gibbs realised who the lady was  and hence the Protea later tweeted: “Didn’t know you were an actress @aliaa08 but nice gif”

Alia also engaged herself in the matter and retweeted Gibbs with a GIF of her imitating the umpire’s action for a boundary to which Gibbs replied: “I deal in 6s madam not fours.”

Talking about Gibbs, he played 248 ODI matches for South Africa and scored 8,094 runs. In 90 Test matches, he scored 6,167 runs. Meanwhile, Alia is the famous Bollywood actress who made a name for herself with films like ‘Highway’ and ‘Dear Zindagi’.
