David Warner marked his birthday and return to international cricket on home soil, after serving the 12-month ban, with a brilliant 56-ball century against Sri Lanka in the first Twenty-20 International of the three-match series at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday. It was the first-ever T20I century by the opener and it helped his team post a massive total 233 on board.
Having won the toss, Sri Lankan captain Lasith Malinga chose to bowl first but his decision was proven wrong by Warner and Australian skipper Aaron Finch from the very first over.
The 33-year-old looked in brutal hard-hitting mood as he partnered his captain in a 100+ partnership for the first wicket. Both the batsmen reached their respective half-centuries in no time. However, the captain fell prey to the chinaman bowler Lakshan Sandakan after making a fiery 64 off just 36 deliveries.

Warner, on the other hand continued with his mayhem and was joined by Glenn Maxwell. There seemed no respite for the touring bowlers as both the batsmen showed no lack of intent and did not get affected by the fall of wicket.
The Malinga-led bowling attack suffered another 100-run partnership as Maxwell blasted his way to his 50 in just 22 balls before getting caught by Kushal Perera off Dasun Shanaka while batting at 62.
