Former India swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag turns 41 on Sunday.

The cricket fraternity took to social media to wish the legendary opener, who was well-known for his fearless approach on the field.

“Happy Birthday Mr. Triple Centurion,” tweeted BCCI posting the video of Sehwag’s second triple hundred which came against South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in March 2008.

To this Sehwag replied, “It’s all about timing and what a timing , sharp at mid night with the video upload! Many thanks BCCI. (sic)”

It is to note that Sehwag has two triple centuries against his name in Test cricket, only Don Bradman, Chris Gayle and Brian Lara have achieved the feat in the longest format of the game.

Former India batsman and Sehwag’s opening partner, Sachin Tendulkar tweeted, “Cracking the ball on the field and cracking jokes off it has always been your mantra! Janamdin Mubarak Viru.”

Former India classy batsman VVS Laxman tweeted, “Special birthday wishes to a special friend Virender Sehwag May your birthday be sprinkled with fun and laughter. Have a great day and year ahead Bratha. (sic)”

Terming Sehwag ‘modern day’s Vivian Richards’, Harbhajan tweeted, “Happy birthday to the most dangerous batsman I have ever bowled to Virender Sehwag jeo Lala..modern day’s VIV Richards. (sic)”
