France fans had their hearts in their mouths when hotshot Kylian Mbappe crumpled in a heap after getting clattered by teammate Adil Rami in a training session but the Paris Saint-Germain forward took to Instagram to calm fears as he claimed it was just a knock and nothing serious.

On Tuesday, Les Blues held a training session open to the media but things quickly took a turn for the worse when the hulking Rami inadvertently collided with the 19-year-old.

The coaching staff and the physios rushed to attend to the forward, who forms a potent attack triumvirate with Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann.

Despite receiving aid, Mbappe had to be helped off the pitch and the fact that he didn’t rejoin the training session fanned the flames that his complaint was worse than initially feared.

Quite a few media outlets reported that Mbappe had suffered an injury just 48 hours before the 2018 FIFA World Cup and hence, was a major doubt for France’s Group C opener against Australia.

However, the teenager posted this on Instagram to quell any doubts over his participation in the June 16 tie against the Socceroos:

The post, after translation, reads: “I’m fine, it’s just a hit so it snot serious but thank you for your messages. Ps: And leave my friend Adil Rami, it wasn’t mean.”

Spirits are clearly high in the French dressing room as Mbappe didn’t take affront to the fact that his own teammate had just injured him and that will please coach Didier Deschamps to no end.

Traditionally there has been a lot of infighting in the French squad at major tournaments, which is why they have not found much success at the World Cup save their 1998 triumph.

There is a growing belief, however, that this unit has the potential to go all the way, but only time will tell if they can come good on their promise.
