Journey: Although a star kid, Sonam never had it easy. She used to struggle a lot with her pocket money and used to do jobs to cover her expenses. Before making her debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya, Sonam worked as an assistant director for Black and was asked to lose weight for her own feature film. Philanthropy: Sonam supports numerous charities and NGOs, and is also very vocal about LGBT rights in the country. On one of her birthdays, Sonam asked her fans to donate to the Ogaan Cancer Foundation and collaborated with the foundation to increase awareness about breast cancer. Sonam also auctioned some of her clothes on a stylists’ online portal. The proceeds of the auction were donated to a child-welfare organisation. Way to go girl. (Photo Credits: Facebook)

Comeback: Fluctuations are inevitable in career as ups and downs are part and parcel of life. However, how you battle your way out and make your comeback is all what matters when the dust is settled. After a string of flops, Sonam made a comeback with her performance in the acclaimed Ranjhanna. She followed it up with memorable performances in films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Dolly Ki Doli, Neerja, Pad Man and Veere Di Wedding. (Photo Credits: Facebook)

The perfect bride: Sonam’s fairy tale wedding reception was the most memorable event Bollywood has seen in a long time. However, it was Sonam and her hubby Anand Ahuja who stole the show with their equation at all the functions. Sonam looked no less than a princess at her wedding. Then she played the enthusiastic host alongside her father, Anil Kapoor, at the reception. Kudos! (Photo Credits: Facebook)
