Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday remembered India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 128th birth anniversary.

Naidu tweeted: “Wish the nation on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, today.”

PM Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to Manila for India-ASEAN summit, also paid tributes to Pandit Nehru.

“Tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary,” Modi tweeted.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi joined the thread wishing Nehru on his 128th Birth anniversary.

Country’s first PM Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14 November 1889 in Allahabad.

Nehru’s birthday is celebrated as ‘Children’s Day’ across the country.

Former PM Manmohan Singh and former President Pranab Mukherjee paid tribute to Pandit Nehru at Shanti Van on his birth anniversary.
