As of August 7, a massive multi-agency rescue operation is underway in Dharali, Uttarkashi, following the devastating cloudburst on August 5 that claimed at least five lives. Over 270 people have been rescued, while more than 100 are still feared missing. The Indian Army, NDRF, ITBP, SDRF, Uttarakhand Police, and local authorities are jointly involved in the efforts. Helicopter rescue operations have also been launched to ensure the swift evacuation of stranded victims in the flood-affected region.

Himachal Pradesh Minister Jagat Singh Negi stated that the recent spell of rainfall over the past two days has caused extensive damage across the state. Road connectivity has been severely impacted, with 613 link roads and four national highways affected.
He added that 428 concrete houses have been completely destroyed, while over 1,000 homes have suffered partial damage. Livestock losses have also been reported, and many farmers have seen their crops washed away by the rains.
The damage assessment is still underway, but initial estimates suggest that the state has incurred losses amounting to over ₹1,600–1,700 crore due to the recent weather events.
