The holy city of Ayodhya witnessed a spectacular confluence of devotion, culture and grandeur as Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh flagged off the Ramayana-themed Shobhayatra by waving the Jai Shri Ram flag and beating ceremonial drums at Saket Mahavidyalaya on Sunday.
The magnificent procession, a highlight of Deepotsav 2025, recreated the essence of Treta Yug through vibrant tableaux, traditional performances and devotional fervour.

As these tableaux reached the Rampath, it felt as if the splendour and dignity of the Treta Yuga had returned to the present.
Speaking on the occasion, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, every edition of Deepotsav breaks its own record and sets new milestones of faith and grandeur. This year’s festival not only celebrates divinity but also conveys the vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat through cultural unity and social harmony. The tableaux are designed to spread messages of women empowerment under Mission Shakti and highlight the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, inspiring every citizen to take part in nation-building.”
The Shobhayatra, which began from Saket Mahavidyalaya and culminated at Ram Katha Park, featured 22 grand tableaux depicting episodes from the Ramayana’s seven kandas — from Ram Janmotsav to Lanka Vijay. Artists from across India infused the streets with energy through Mayur, Badhawa, Dehdiya, Dhobiya and other folk dances, while devotees showered flowers and lit diyas along the Ram Path, transforming the city into a divine theatre of light, sound and devotion.
Ayush Singh, a visitor from Prayagraj, said, “The Shobhayatra gave a glimpse of our rich cultural diversity. Every tableau, every dance spoke of India’s unity in diversity and the timeless values of Lord Ram.”
The event emphasised Ayodhya’s growing stature as the spiritual and cultural heart of India — where faith meets development, and tradition blends with transformation.
