Opposition leaders have reacted sharply on the Uttar Pradesh Budget and termed it as a political one rather than one to address the people’s misery.

The UP government has presented the biggest budget of Rs 7.36 lakh crore for the financial year 2024-25 on Monday in the state assembly , which is the biggest budget so far in the history of the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed that this budget will prove to be a milestone in making the state’s economy worth one trillion dollars.

Special attention has been given to the empowerment of the poor and women in the budget, he further claimed.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has reacted to the budget alleged that 90 per cent of the state government’s budget is only for the 10 per cent rich people and only 10 per cent has been given for the 90 per cent people.

Talking to media persons, Yadav said that the government has not done anything to provide jobs to the youth. It has been said in the budget to provide employment but has claimed that an investment of Rs 40 lakh crore will come in the state and this will generate more than one crore employment. The government has not told how much investment has come so far, he said.

The SP President said that ease of doing corruption has increased in the state while ease of doing crime has increased and ease of doing cheating has increased.

“10 years of Delhi and 7 years of Uttar Pradesh rule farmers are unhappy in the double engine government and the youth have no jobs. Amidst all this, the amazing thing is that the biggest budget has been tabled,” he castigated.

SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav said that every time the government presents the biggest budget but is unable to spend it. Corruption is at its peak in the state.

Only a few people will benefit from this budget and the public will not get any benefit. People are troubled by unemployment and inflation he alleged.

Bahujan Samaj Party supremo and former Chief Minister Mayawati, while reacting on the budget, said that this budget seems to be more for the electoral interest of the party and less for the broader public interest and public welfare.

“Various announcements, promises and claims of the government have been made but it is also necessary to evaluate whether all the previous promises of the government related to development have been fulfilled,” she said in the social media.

She further said that it is necessary to follow all the claims and promises made by the UP government in the budget regarding the welfare of the society, development and law and order.
