After a week-long wait, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday evening assigned portfolios to the eight newly inducted ministers in his cabinet.

The ministers were administered the oath of office last Sunday (May 10), and the portfolios were allocated on the eve of the first Cabinet meeting scheduled for Monday.

New Cabinet minister Bhupendra Chaudhary has been assigned the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, while another new entrant, Hansraj Vishwakarma, has been appointed as Minister of State in the same department.

Cabinet minister and rebel Samajwadi Party MLA Manoj Pandey has been given charge of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, while Ajit Singh Pal has been assigned the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department with independent charge.

Somendra Tomar has been given independent charge of the Political Pension, Military Welfare, and Provincial Armed Constabulary departments. Krishna Paswan has been assigned the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department.

Minister of State Kailash Singh Rajput has been given charge of the Energy and Additional Energy Sources Department, while Suresh Rahi has been assigned the Revenue Department.
