Rajya Sabha polls on agenda as BJP leaders huddle at PM Modi’s residence today
The elections for 24 Rajya Sabha seats spread across 10 states are set to take place on June 18, as announced by the Election Commission.
According to sources, discussions during the meeting were held on the agenda of the Parliament session apart from the strategy for both Houses.

Top BJP ministers, included Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mansukh Mandaviya, Bhupender Yadav, Manohar Lal Khattar, and Kiren Rijiju, held a meeting ahead of the upcoming Winter Session to chalk out a floor strategy to counter the Oppostion in the two Houses of Parliament.
According to sources, discussions during the meeting were held on the agenda of the Parliament session apart from the strategy for both Houses. The ministers also discussed the government’s functioning in view of the issues likely to be raised by the Opposition parties and the potential uproar in Parliament.

While the BJP-led NDA is preparing to push several key legislations during the session, the Opposition INDIA bloc is poised to take on the government on the contentious special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. They are also expected to raise the issue at the all-party meeting on the session’s eve on Sunday.

The BJP leaders say the government is focused on passing key bills and maintaining legislative productivity and has also called the customary all-party meeting before the Winter Session which starts on December 1.
