Inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the upcoming global summit in Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday once again urged him to approve key infrastructure projects, including the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro, crucial for the growing metropolis.
The chief minister met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament premises and invited him to the Telangana Rising 2047 Global Summit at the proposed Future City.

Reddy informed the Prime Minister that the vision document for Telangana Rising has been prepared to set sector-wise growth targets, utilising inputs from Niti Aayog and through consultations with experts from various fields.
Reddy took the opportunity to remind the Prime Minister about pending approvals for various development projects in Telangana. The chief minister urged the Prime Minister to grant the necessary approvals for the Phase II expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, which has been pending for a while.
The state government has already submitted proposals to the Centre for Phase II expansion covering 162.5 km with an estimated cost of Rs 43,848 crore. The Telangana government has proposed the project as a joint venture between the state and the Centre.
Reddy also urged Prime Minister Modi to grant Cabinet approval and financial sanction for the northern Part of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) and sanction for starting construction for the southern stretch as well. The chief minister approached the Centre with proposals for a 12-lane greenfield express highway between Hyderabad and Bandar Port via Amaravati and a high-speed corridor between Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
He also submitted a representation seeking approval for the construction of a four-lane elevated corridor between Munnanur and Srisailam, through the Tiger Reserve, to improve connectivity with the pilgrimage centre.
The chief minister was accompanied by the deputy chief minister, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu in his meeting with the Prime Minister. Earlier in the day, the duo had also invited Union defence minister Rajnath Singh and IT and Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the global summit.
He also extended an invitation to the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi. The Cabinet ministers have also fanned out to personally invite chief ministers of various states for the summit, which will be held between 8 and 10 December.
