Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said here on Thursday that the poor performance of the BJP in the four Lok Sabha bypolls should be considered as taking a few steps backwards to prepare for a long leap forward.
Singh was addressing media persons in Bhopal on Thursday afternoon after inaugurating the sprawling Central Academy for Police Training (CAPT) at Kanha Saiyya near Bhopal.
Singh asserted that the Union government had succeeded in curtailing Maoist terror successfully and the naxal movement was reduced to about 90 districts in the country, which was spread in more than 125 districts earlier.
The Home Minister said the construction of around 1400 bunkers underway would be completed in the next couple of months to ensure the safety of Indians residing in border areas of the country towards Pakistan.
Singh said he had not yet received any information regarding any letter to his Ministry from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NAB) of Ukraine in connection with the alleged kickbacks of Rs 17.55 crore to some officials of the Defence Ministry in procuring spare parts for the military’s AN-32 aircraft.
Earlier, Singh inaugurated the CAPT, built by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), for imparting training to newly recruited officers of the Central Police Services and State Police Services.
