Amid heavy rains, a SpiceJet flight from Jaipur overshot the runway while landing at Mumbai airport just before midnight on Monday. Officials said no one was injured in the incident.

After the Boeing 737-800 plane saw this incident, the main runway has been closed and a secondary one is in operation at the airport now.

Due to this, several flights have been diverted to other airports such as Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. Also, the bad weather conditions became reason to make a Korean Air flight KE655 divert to Ahmedabad. It was coming from Seoul to Mumbai.

There was heavy rain in Mumbai and the aircraft, after landing, overshot the runway. Passengers were deplaned normally. There was no injury to either the passengers or the crew,” a spokesperson said.

The main runway’s closure will result in delaying of flights.
