SP Tyagi’s arrest dents IAF reputation: Arup Raha

The arrest of former IAF chief SP Tyagi in the VVIP helicopter scam dents the Air Force reputation, Indian Air Force Chief Arup Raha said on Saturday.

“Former IAF chief SP Tyagi’s arrest is unfortunate. It dents our reputation,” Raha said as Tyagi was sent to police custody till December 14 by a city court on Saturday.

Tyagi’s cousin Sanjeev and lawyer Gautam Khaitan were also sent to police custody till December 14, reports said.

The three were arrested by the CBI on Friday on charges of corruption in the Rs.3,600-crore AgustaWestland helicopter deal.
