Samajwadi Party leader Pappu Singh Chauhan was expelled from the party on Tuesday over his involvement in the Fatehpur tomb controversy.

After Chauhan’s name came up in the case of vandalism of Abdul Samad’s mausoleum, the party expelled him with immediate effect.

The information has been given by the media cell of the SP.
The party wrote on social media site X that ”any person with the BJP mentality who is involved in anti-party activities and has an ideology different from the PDA (pichde—backward classes, Dalits, and alpsankhyak—minorities) or is working at the behest of the BJP while staying in the Samajwadi Party should either leave the party immediately or he will be identified and expelled from the party.”
Fatehpur District President of the Samajwadi Party, Surendra Pratap Singh, issued a letter saying that Pappu Singh Chauhan of village Rahimalan Ka Purwa under Husseinganj Tehsil has been expelled from the party for being involved in anti-party activities.
SP leaders during the discussion in the state assembly on Tuesday alleged that the state government was responsible for the entire incident. But the party faced embarrassment when one of its leaders’ name was made public by the government among the accused in the matter.
SP MLA Atul Pradhan alleged that the unrest in Fatehpur was not spread by the common people, but the administration and BJP leaders were responsible for it.
