A soldier shot himself dead with his service rifle on Sunday in Jaamu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.
The soldier, who killed himself in Pahalgam area, has been identified as Narendra R, of Karnataka, police said.

“An FIR has been registered in the incident,” a police officer said.

According to police, the incident took place on June 10 in Chakwal district, about 300 km from Lahore, in Punjab province of Pakistan.
In Jalandhar, a 24-year-old man was shot dead and his companion critically injured after unidentified attackers allegedly opened fire on them while they were on their way to a hospital for treatment.
Anshul Kuncha was employed at a multinational company in the US. Also, he was working part-time as a pizza delivery executive to earn extra money.
