Smile amid strife: Photo of Nadda and Priyanka goes viral during political deadlock

Amid the ongoing tensions between the ruling NDA government and the Congress-led Opposition, highlighted by heated exchanges during the recently concluded Monsoon Session of Parliament, a photo of BJP president J P Nadda sharing a light moment with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra during a recent meeting has gone viral on social media.

The photograph, shared by Priyanka Gandhi in a post on X, was taken during a meeting with the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare at his office. Gandhi was accompanied by three representatives from her Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. In her post, she mentioned that the discussion focused on improving healthcare infrastructure and reiterated the demand for establishing an AIIMS in Kerala.

“Met Shri J P Nadda to request him to expedite some health projects in Wayanad and to apprise him of the severe difficulties being faced by the local population in the absence of the Medical College in Mananthavadi, which is yet far from functional. We also discussed the need for better healthcare for Wayanad’s tribal population, their specific health issues, pending NHM funds, and the need for a specialised trauma centre catering to cases of animal attacks in the area,” she wrote.

“Along with this, all of us also renewed the long-standing request for an AIIMS for Kerala. He was kind enough to hear out all our demands and hold a frank discussion with us. I sincerely hope that these pressing issues will be given due consideration,” the post concluded.

Donning a blue saree, Gandhi is seen laughing as she sat next to Kurta Pyjama-clad Nadda. The meeting was held on August 21.
