After locals informed the police about the girl’s whereabouts, a team of the Kollam East police reached the spot and taken the girl into their custody.

A six-year-old girl, who was kidnapped from Oyoor in Kerala’s Kollam district, was found abandoned near Ashramam  maidan in Kollam around 1.30 pm on Tuesday, 20 hours after she was abducted.

Locals, who had seen the girl on the ashram maidan in an abandoned state, informed the police about her whereabouts following which a team of the Kollam East police reached the spot and took her into the custody.

One of the locals said the child was dropped by a woman off a car.

As per reports, the health condition of the girl is satisfactory. Abigail will be produced before the court and before being handed over to her parents. It has been reported that the police has no clue about the gang who abducted the girl.

Six-year-old girl Abigel Sara Reji was kidnapped from Oyoor in Kollam by a gang, comprising a woman who arrived in a car at around 4.40 pm on Monday while she was on her way to her tuition class along with her eight-year-old brother.

The kidnappers, suspected to be four in number including the woman, came in a white car and abducted the girl. When her eight-year-old brother tried to intervene, the abductors pushed him aside and whisked the girl away in the car.

Three hours after the girl went missing; her mother received a call from an unknown number demanding a ransom of Rs five lakh. Later, the kidnappers raised the ransom amount to Rs 10 lakh.

The police managed to release the sketch of the kidnapper, but no breakthrough has been achieved even 20 hours after the shocking incident. Meanwhile, three persons were taken into custody by the police on suspicion of their direct involvement in the abduction.
