Although he had been visiting districts across Uttar Pradesh to raise awareness about the campaign, support from the Samajwadi Party intensified after an incident in Kannauj, the parliamentary constituency of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. The district administration allegedly denied permission for Swami and his entourage to stay at a designated venue, forcing them to halt by the roadside.

Following the incident, the Samajwadi Party openly extended its support to the campaign.

Acting on directions from the party leadership, Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav welcomed Swami during his visit to Mainpuri along with hundreds of supporters and pledged to strengthen the campaign for cow protection.

A similar show of support was witnessed in Etawah after the Mainpuri visit.

At a ceremony held at a private school in Saifai, the hometown of Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Shivpal Singh Yadav, Aditya Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, members of the Mulayam Singh Yadav family, and hundreds of party workers gathered to welcome the Shankaracharya and listen to his address.

Welcoming Swami Avimukteshwaranand Maharaj to Saifai, Shivpal Singh Yadav reiterated support for his demand that the cow be removed from the category of animals and declared the Mother of the Nation.

Addressing the gathering, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Maharaj said that cows are facing severe neglect in Uttar Pradesh despite repeated political promises regarding their protection. He alleged that cow protection is often highlighted during elections but remains neglected in practice.

Commenting on the political situation in the state, Swami expressed confidence that the BJP would face significant challenges in the 2027 Assembly elections. Referring to recent youth protests in Delhi, he said that growing frustration among young people over government policies had compelled them to take to the streets.

Shivpal Singh Yadav, while welcoming the Shankaracharya, said that he supported the campaign’s objectives and concerns regarding cow protection. He also criticized the BJP government, alleging that inflation and unemployment have reached alarming levels in the state.

Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav said, “We extend a grand welcome to Swamiji in Saifai. We, as members of the Yadav community, regard the cow as our mother and have a long tradition of rearing and caring for cattle. We stand firmly with Swamiji’s ‘Rashtramata Jan Jagran Abhiyan’.”

The event featured Vedic chanting, religious rituals, and prayers, after which devotees received blessings from the Shankaracharya. More than 200 devotees and supporters attended the programme.

A major attraction was the approximately 60-foot-tall statue of Lord Krishna, before which the religious ceremony was conducted. The venue was filled with an atmosphere of devotion, reverence, and enthusiasm.

During his address, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati described cow protection as an issue closely linked to India’s cultural and religious identity. He said that the cow occupies a central place in the Sanatan tradition and emphasized the need for society and government to work together for its protection.

He also praised the Yadav community for its long-standing tradition of cattle rearing and service, noting its historical contribution to cow conservation and protection.

The Shankaracharya further questioned the effectiveness of the Uttar Pradesh government’s cow protection measures, stating that cow protection is not merely a political issue but a matter of faith, culture, and heritage. He alleged a gap between official claims and the ground reality concerning the welfare of cows and expressed concern over their condition.

Several Samajwadi Party leaders also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of cow service, social harmony, and cultural values. A large number of devotees attended the programme to hear the Shankaracharya’s views and seek his blessings.

The event in Saifai emerged as a focal point for religious faith, social concerns, and political discourse. Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati’s journey forms part of the Gau Raksha Jan Jagran Abhiyan, which aims to raise awareness about cow protection and the preservation of Sanatan traditions across the country.
