Akash Yadav, a former state president of Chhatra RJD, has alleged that Tej Pratap Yadav and his associate Motilal Yadav arrived at his residence in Patna’s Patliputra area on June 6 while he was away on a pilgrimage to Khatu Shyam.

According to the FIR, the two allegedly tried to enter the house and threatened family members present there.

Akash Yadav also claimed that he later received threatening phone calls linked to the incident. He alleged that Motilal Yadav contacted him and that another caller introduced himself as a member of a criminal gang. The caller allegedly warned him against making public statements against the former minister.

Patna ASP (Law and Order) Divyanjali Jaiswal said the complainant has also alleged receiving death threats. An audio recording has been submitted as part of the complaint.

Police said one of the alleged calls appears to have originated from a United States-based number. Investigators are now verifying the authenticity of the recordings and examining other evidence submitted in the case.

Tej Pratap Yadav has rejected the allegations and termed the case politically motivated.

In a statement posted on X, he said the complaint was driven by personal vendetta and was filed after legal notices had allegedly been issued concerning the complainant’s conduct. He claimed the allegations were aimed at damaging his reputation and political standing.

The former minister said he respects democratic institutions, constitutional values and the rule of law. He accused opponents of attempting to misuse legal mechanisms to spread false allegations and tarnish his image.

Tej Pratap Yadav also expressed confidence in the judicial process and said the facts would emerge through evidence and legal proceedings. He indicated that he would pursue available legal remedies against those he believes are behind the allegations.

Police officials said the investigation is at a preliminary stage. The complaint, audio recordings and other materials submitted by the complainant are currently under examination.

Further action will depend on the outcome of the verification process, officials said.
