The health condition of renowned English author Ruskin Bond, who was hospitalised in Dehradun six days ago, has improved, and he is likely to be discharged soon.
Doctors at Dehradun-based Max Hospital, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Bond is out of danger and could be released from the hospital within a day or two.

The Mussoorie-based author was admitted to Max Hospital in Dehradun on December 10 after experiencing health issues that left him unable to walk. His grandson, Rakesh Bond, informed that the author was facing problems with his legs and had difficulty walking, which necessitated hospitalisation.

According to Rakesh Bond, the nerves in Ruskin Bond’s left leg had weakened, and owing to his heavy weight, he was unable to walk. As a precautionary measure, he was admitted to the hospital on December 10.
Rakesh further clarified that apart from the leg-related issue, the 91-year-old author has no other serious health problems and that all necessary test reports were normal.
He added that Ruskin Bond is currently undergoing physiotherapy and receiving medical care. Given the continuous improvement in his condition, he is likely to be discharged within a day or two
