A Delhi court on Friday ordered framing of molestation charges in the sexual harassment case against RK Pachauri, former Director General of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) filed by his ex-colleague. The court has posted the matter for next hearing on October 20.

The Saket court has asked the charges to be framed under Section 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), Section 354A (sexual harassment) and Section 509 (words used to outrage the modesty of a woman).

A chargesheet against him was filed on March 1, 2016 under Nirbhaya Act.

Pachauri was accused of sexually harassing a female colleague in 2015. He stepped down as chairperson of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in February 2015 and proceeded on leave from TERI, where he was the director general.

In November 2015, the woman researcher who accused him of sexual harassment quit her job at TERI, alleging she was treated badly. TERI denied the charges.

A First Information Report or FIR was filed against RK Pachauri by his ex-colleague on February 13, 2015. He was granted anticipatory bail in the case on March 21.
