Stabbing at Sydney church a ‘terrorist act’: Australian police
Australian police are treating a stabbing at a Sydney church as a terrorist attack, New South Wales Police Commissioner Karen Webb said on Tuesday.
In a shocking incident, a retired Bengali professor was found murdered at her residence in Dehradun district on Wednesday. Putul Ghose was residing at Athurwala, about 40 kms from Dehradun city, for the past six years.
The body of Putul Ghose was recovered from her residence. Her hands were found tied with rope and she was strangled to death by unidentified miscreants. Sixty-four year old retired professor from Kolkata was living alone in her house at Athurwala. Inspector Suryabhushan Negi said, “We have started investigation and will arrest the culprits soon.”
All the doors of the house were closed and just one window was found open. The police claim that the miscreants used the window to flee from the spot. As the news about the murder spread in the area big crowd gathered on the spot.

The retired professor made Uttarakhand her home in 2014 and was leading a quiet life.
The police rushed to the spot after neighbours expressed fear of some mis-happening taking place as the Bengali woman was not coming out of her home and picking her phone. The murder has created shockwave in the locality.
Forensic team of the police was used to collect vital evidence. Police are connecting the case with old rivalry as no robbery took place in the home. All the valuables inside the house were found intact.
