A cook at the house of a retired IPS officer and his IPL-player son in Bhopal has alleged that the father-son duo thrashed and abused him. The officer’s son has denied the allegations, countering that the cook made videos of their house, including the bedrooms where expensive items were kept, and sent the footage to some people.
On the complaint of the cook, the police at the Ratibad Police Station have registered a case against the IPS officer, his son, and their driver.

Their cook, Vipendra Singh Tomar (31), a resident of Rewa, has lodged a police complaint alleging physical assault and criminal intimidation.
According to the police, Tomar was employed at the Singh household recently as a cook. In his complaint, Tomar has charged that the family did not like one of the meals prepared by him, and for that reason, they thrashed him and even confiscated his mobile phone.
Acting on Tomar’s complaint, the police on Monday registered a case against Shailesh Singh, Shashank Singh, and another employee under Sections 296(B), 115(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Shashank Singh, however, counter-alleged on Tuesday that Vipendra Singh Tomar was recording videos of the family’s house and rooms on his mobile phone and sending them to somebody.
The player also claimed that Tomar demanded Rs 20,000 in advance before starting work at the family’s house.
Shashank Singh flatly denied the allegations of physical assault and threats.
The police are conducting further investigations in the case.
