Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said here on Sunday that the theme will focus on Bundelkhand’s iconic forts such as Kalinjar, Jhansi, Orchha, Charkhari and Mahoba, which stand as enduring symbols of courage, heritage and regional craftsmanship. He added that preparations are underway, and the process for selecting an implementing agency has been initiated.

The Shobhayatra will present Bundelkhand’s story through a strong visual narrative, tracing its journey through ancient architecture, folk traditions, local art forms and distinctive lifestyle. Historical symbols of bravery and self-respect that shaped Bundelkhand’s identity will form the core of the presentation.

Alongside heritage and culture, the Shobhayatra will also highlight the tourism potential of Bundelkhand’s forts and palaces, reinforcing the message that the region holds strong appeal for domestic and international travellers interested in history, culture and heritage tourism.

The cultural shobhayatra will feature Bundeli folk dancers and performers, dressed in traditional attire, bringing the region’s vibrant traditions to life. The rhythmic beats of ‘dhol’ and ‘nagada’ (drums) will add energy and emotion, immersing spectators in the festive spirit and cultural pride of Bundelkhand.

For the execution of the Shobhayatra, the Tourism Department has invited proposals through an e-tender process. The selected agency will be responsible for developing the overall concept, original design, creative elements, integration of robotic features, and the symbolic portrayal of Bundelkhand’s courage and heroic legacy.

Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the Republic Day Shobhayatra will be more than a cultural presentation. “It will be a celebration of Bundelkhand’s courage, self-respect and rich heritage. Through this theme, we aim to present Bundelkhand’s history, folk traditions and architecture effectively on a national platform. This initiative will strengthen the region’s identity and contribute to positioning Bundelkhand as a major tourism destination.”

Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture Amrit Abhijat said the Bundelkhand-themed Shobhayatra will serve as a powerful medium to present Uttar Pradesh’s cultural heritage with dignity and innovation. He added that the department’s efforts are focused on giving new momentum to Bundelkhand’s distinct identity and tourism possibilities through this national celebration.
