Amid the ongoing probe into the car blast near the Red Fort in Delhi on November 10 that killed 15 people, several locations across the Kashmir Valley were searched on Tuesday morning by the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK). Not just in the Kashmir Valley, a coordinated search operation was also launched at 25 locations across Delhi, Haryana, and other cities as part of the probe against Al-Falah University and its trustees on Tuesday morning.
One of the accused in the blast case, Dr Muzammil, used to work at the university located in Haryana’s Faridabad.
According to ANI, the searches began around 5 am after the agency registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) against Faridabad-based Al-Falah University and its trustees earlier this week to investigate suspected financial irregularities.
The agency conducted simultaneous searches at the offices, entities, shell firms, and individuals linked to Al-Falah University and its trustees, in close coordination with local police forces. Teams from the ED searched premises linked to the university’s management, associated trusts, and businesses.
On Monday, Delhi police registered two separate FIRs against Al-Falah University, whose membership has already been revoked by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) after the connections to the terror module emerged.
While one FIR is linked to allegations of cheating, the second has been filed under sections related to forgery.
On Monday, the police gave two summonses to Javed Ahmad Siddiqui in connection with the FIRs, which were registered based on a complaint by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Probe officials stated that Siddiqui’s statement was pertinent in solving several loopholes related to the university’s operations and the activities of individuals associated with it.
