In a tragic incident, an air ambulance headed to Delhi from Ranchi crashed on Monday in Jharkhand’s Chatra, killing all seven people on board, including the patient, according to reports.
The air ambulance, a Beechcraft King Air BE9L operated by Delhi-based Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd, reportedly crashed in Kasiyatu forest of Simaria near Chatra.

The plane had taken off at around 7 pm and was expected to land in Delhi at around 10 pm. However, it lost control with the Air Traffic Control at around 7.34 pm, nearly half and hour after taking off from the Jharkhand capital.

According to Ranchi Airport sources cited by news agency ANI, the medical flight established contact with the next station after taking off from Ranchi. The control was handed over to the next station. However the contact was lost after that.
“The plane did not contact the Ranchi Airport. The State has been informed about this. All necessary SOPs are being followed,” the source said.
Seven people, including the patient, a doctor, a paramedic, two attendants, a pilot and his co-pilot were aboard the air ambulance when it crashed.
