Raghav Chadha refuses to cower, hits back at AAP again

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Sunday escalated his standoff with the party leadership, rejecting allegations that he has failed to raise Punjab’s concerns in Parliament and accusing colleagues of pushing a “coordinated attack” against him.

In a sharp counter, Chadha shared a video clip from the Rajya Sabha on X, putting forth his interventions on Punjab-related issues. The post appeared aimed at dismantling claims being circulated by the party that he had been absent on key state matters.

‘Picture abhi baaki hai’

In a pointed message to party colleagues, Chadha suggested that the narrative against him was being manufactured.

“To my colleagues in AAP who were forced to issue videos saying that ‘Raghav Chadha failed to raise Punjab’s issues in Parliament’, here is a small trailer… Picture abhi baaki hai,” he wrote, signalling that he intends to continue pushing back.

He underscored his personal and political connection to the state, asserting, “Punjab isn’t a talking point for me. It is my home, my duty, my soil, my soul.”

‘Won’t let lies become truth’

Breaking his silence a day after publicly challenging the accusations, Chadha said he was compelled to respond as “repeated lies” risked being accepted as fact.

“I didn’t want to speak up, but if I stayed silent, even a repeatedly repeated lie would start to seem like the truth. Three allegations. Zero truth,” he said, directly contesting the charges levelled against him following his removal as AAP’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha.

Alleges ‘scripted campaign’

In a video message, Chadha went further, alleging that the criticism against him was neither organic nor isolated.

“The same questions and the same allegations against me, this is no coincidence but a coordinated attack,” he said, describing the campaign as “scripted.”

He also rubbished claims that he failed to stand with the opposition during parliamentary walkouts, calling the charge a “white lie” and pointing to CCTV footage within Parliament as evidence that could verify his presence.

Rift within AAP widens

The public exchange lays bare a growing fissure within the Aam Aadmi Party, with Chadha openly challenging the party’s internal narrative while leadership circles continue to question his parliamentary engagement.

Despite the escalating confrontation, Chadha maintained that his focus remains unchanged. He insisted that he has consistently raised Punjab’s concerns and will continue to do so, even as the political battle within his own party intensifies.
