The AAP on Monday hailed Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for announcing a relief package for the flood affected victims in the state, adding that no state government in the country has ever taken such extensive steps.
With Punjab reeling under devastation caused by massive flooding in several parts of the state, Mann announced that farmers will receive compensation of Rs 20,000 per acre, with cheques handed directly to them. It was also announced that the families of those who lost their lives in the floods will be given Rs 4 lakh.

The Chief Minister stated that surveys will be conducted to assess damage to houses in order to provide compensation. Loan installments taken by flood-affected farmers from cooperative societies and agricultural banks will be deferred for six months, and financial assistance will be extended for the loss of livestock.”
In a post on X, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal wrote, “Punjab has faced a massive blow from nature. In this difficult time, Punjabis have set an example of courage, resilience, brotherhood and selfless service. All leaders and karyakartas of the Aam Aadmi Party have also been serving people day and night for several days.”

In another post on X, senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia said that Mann has once again emerged as the true well-wisher of Punjabis. “Even while being admitted in the hospital, his only concern was how to reduce the suffering of his people in the situation created by the floods in Punjab.”

The only aim is that every household, every farmer, every worker receives relief. This is the unwavering love and spirit of service of Punjab’s son for his family.
