The 25-year-old Pune businessman, Ketan Vishal Agarwal, who was initially believed to have died by accidentally falling from a cliff at Lohagad Fort, was allegedly murdered by his fiancee and her suspected lover, Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural), Sandeep Singh Gill said on Tuesday.
“On 18 June 2026, a couple named Siya Goyal and Ketan Agarwal, who got engaged in February, went to Lohagad Fort for trekking. Around 10:30–10:45, Siya Goyal informed by phone that Ketan Agarwal had slipped and fallen from the fort and died…Based on confidential sources, witness statements, and technical evidence, police found that Siya Goyal and her friend Chetan Chaudhary, who knew each other for about a year, allegedly planned the incident. It is believed they pushed Ketan Agarwal from Lohagad Fort, causing his death…,” Gill said.

The police believe that Ketan was pushed down the cliff by his fiancee Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary.
Moreover, his June 19 death was in fact the second attempt to murder him, a story of betrayal that resembles the infamous Meghalaya honeymoon murder case.
According to the investigators, Ketan had gone to Pune’s iconic Lohagad Fort with his fiancee Siya Goyal and friends to celebrate her birthday.
Little did he know that the girl he was about to marry next month was planning to kill him with the help of her lover Chetan.
He was pushed down into a valley and died due to injuries. Siya told police that he lost his balance while clicking a picture and fell around 350 feet down into the valley.
The police initially believed the accidental death theory but suspected foul play when Siya failed to disclose certain details.
As the investigators grew suspicious of her role, they began probing her phone records and other technical evidence.
According to reports, Siya had planned the Lohagad trek on June 14. During the trip, she tried to push Ketan down into the valley by falsely creating fear of a snake bite.
However, Ketan didn’t react the way she had expected and her plan got failed.
Later, on June 19, she again planned the Lohagad Fort trek. It was not immediately clear whether Ketan knew her alleged lover Chetan.
Ketan had initially planned a foreign trip with Siya before their marriage. The couple had even left their homes for Bali but Siya told Ketan that she had lost her passport, leading to the cancellation of the visit.
Siya had allegedly thrown the passport in the washroom of the hotel where they had stopped for refreshments.
The police have arrested both Siya and her alleged lover Chetan and a thorough investigation is currently underway.
