The facility is spread across 1,327 acres and is counted among the largest textile parks in the country. It has been selected under the PM MITRA (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) scheme as a brownfield project.

“Spread across 1,327 acres, KMTP is one of India’s largest textile parks and has been selected under the PM MITRA (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Scheme as a Brownfield Mega Textile Park. It fulfils Hon’ble PM’s 5F vision: Farm to Fibre; Fibre to Factory; Factory to Fashion; Fashion to Foreign,” Reddy wrote on X.

The Union Minister further shared that 62 per cent of the park area has already been allotted to anchor investors, while internal infrastructure, including roads, water supply, and street lighting has been completed.

Major utilities nearing completion at the facility include a 232/132/33 KV power substation and a 220 KV transmission line.

Further, a 12 MLD water supply system is in advanced stages and Phase I of a 5 MLD common effluent treatment plant (CETP) with zero liquid discharge is under trial run.

The project is aimed at generating over 24,400 jobs upon full operationalisation, with about 2,000 jobs already created.

“With its strategic location, plug-and-play facilities, and integrated ecosystem, KMTP is set to become a major driver of textile manufacturing and employment in India,” Reddy said.

He added that the initiative under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflects the central government’s push to strengthen industrial infrastructure and position India as a global textile powerhouse.

Notably, the government had finalised the establishment of PM MITRA Parks at seven locations in March. Among these included Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar, Telangana’s Warangal, Gujarat’s Navsari, Karnataka’s Kalaburagi, Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar, Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow and Maharashtra’s Amravati.

In Union Budget for 2026–27, the government had announced a separate scheme for setting up mega textile parks under a ‘challenge mode’ framework.
