Addressing a rally in Katihar, Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Congress-RJD alliance, claiming a growing rift between the two parties. He said Congress has been sidelined in Mahagathbandhan posters and mocked by the RJD.
PM Modi accused Congress leaders of insulting Bihar by calling Chhath Puja a “drama” and inviting DMK leaders who “abuse Biharis” to campaign in the state.

PM Modi reiterated the ‘Katta’ remark in the Katihar rally. PM Modi made the ‘Katta’ remark earlier on Sunday, triggering a political row. The comment attracted comments from RJD leader Tejashwi Yadavba and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge. Booth condemned the statement, stating that it is undignified and crude for a Prime Minister to use such language.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Congress knows that if the RJD loses this time too, its political career will be over, and Congress will capture the RJD’s vote bank. This tussle to seize each other’s vote bank has now become out in the open. You will see how, after the Bihar election defeat, a wave of abuse will erupt between the RJD and Congress.”
PM Modi alleged that Congress leaders have intentionally insulted Bihar and its people to turn voters against the RJD. He said Congress members called the Chhath festival a “drama,” while a leader from Kerala compared Bihar to a “beedi.” Modi further claimed that Congress invited DMK leaders who “speak ill of Biharis” to campaign in the state, suggesting it was part of a larger plan to make Biharis angry with the RJD.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier on Monday launched a blistering attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Saharsa, saying the “naamdar” is promising to rebuild Nalanda University if his party comes to power, even though the institution has already been revived under the NDA government. Modi said there is a “limit to lying,”.
PM Modi asserted in Saharsa that Nalanda University today stands as a symbol of India’s ancient heritage and modern aspirations.
He claimed that while the Congress government had allocated only ₹20 crore for the redevelopment of Nalanda University, the NDA government had invested ₹2,000 crore.
Striking an empathetic note with the people of Bihar, the Prime Minister said he proudly showcases the state’s crop, Makhana, on the global stage.
“Whenever I travel abroad, I gift a box of makhana to world leaders and tell them this is the livelihood of my farmers from Bihar,” he said
