In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Welcome, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, on your historic first visit to India with the largest ever trade delegation from the UK. Looking forward to our meeting tomorrow for advancing our shared vision of a stronger, mutually prosperous future.”

Starmer landed in Mumbai today for a two-day visit to India, accompanied by a 125-member delegation of CEOs, academics, and industry representatives. This visit aims to strengthen India-UK ties, particularly in trade, technology and climate initiatives, as both nations seek to deepen their strategic partnership.

Starmer will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to discuss progress on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, signed in July.
