PM Modi to virtually inaugurate Agra Metro Rail tomorrow

The double-engine government in Uttar Pradesh is set to give the gift of modern public transport service to the people of City of Taj Mahal.

The Agra Metro Rail Project will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually from Kolkata on March 6 at 10 am.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the Agra Metro from the Taj Mahal Metro Station. The chief minister will travel in the Agra Metro from Taj Mahal Metro Station to Taj East Gate Metro Station. The Agra Metro service will start operating for the general public from March 7.

Deputy General Manager, Public Relations, Panchanan Mitra of UP Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) said here on Tuesday that there are a total of 14 stations in the first corridor of the Agra Metro. Of these, the construction work of six stations of Priority Corridor has been completed in which Taj East Gate, Captain Shubham Gupta, Fatehabad Road metro station is elevated and Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Mankameshwar metro station are underground.

At present, the Agra Metro train will be operated between these 6 metro stations only.
