Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “scared and confused” as a resurgent Congress is set to snatch power from him and win the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

“PM Modi’s mood has changed. He is scared and confused knowing that time is running out. He has also realised that the Congress Party is coming to power,” the Gandhi scion said while addressing a rally in Kolar in the poll-bound southern state.

He said that the Congress will defeat the ideology of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) not only in Karnataka but also in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

“In Karnataka, the Congress party is going to defeat the RSS and BJP’s ideology and send them home,” he said.

“Then we will defeat them in Chhattisgarh, MP, Rajasthan and then, finally, in the Lok Sabha elections next year,” added the Congress President.

He also accused the BJP leaders of insulting Dalits and tribals and threatening to change the Constitution.

“Wherever BJP leaders go in India, they always insult Dalits and Adivasis… BJP ministers threaten to change our Constitution,” he said.

“I would like to warn the BJP that if they tamper with the Constitution written by Dr. Ambedkar, then they will have to deal with the Congress Party,” he added.

Attacking Modi, the Gandhi scion said that the prime minister failed to fulfill even a single promise that he made to the youth of India.

Earlier in the day, the Congress President began the sixth leg of campaigning in poll-bound Karnataka by offering prayers at the revered Kurudumale Ganapathi Temple in Kolar.

As part of the the two-day ‘Jana Aashirwada Yatre’, the Gandhi scion will campaign in Kolar, Chikkaballapur and Bengaluru  ahead of the May 12 assembly polls in Karnataka.
