‎PM Modi also spoke about Netaji Bose’s profound influence on his own public journey, recalling a significant episode from his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister. He referred to the launch of the e-Gram Vishwagram Yojana on January 23, 2009, calling it a landmark initiative that helped transform the state’s information technology framework.

‎“The e-Gram Vishwagram Yojana was a pioneering scheme aimed at transforming Gujarat’s IT landscape,” the Prime Minister said, pointing out that the programme was launched from Haripura, a place closely linked to Netaji Bose’s life and legacy.

Reflecting on the event, PM Modi described Haripura as holding deep emotional significance for him. “I will never forget the manner in which the people of Haripura welcomed me and organised a procession on the same road where Netaji Bose had travelled,” he said.

‎Parakram Diwas is observed every year on January 23 to honour the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, one of India’s foremost freedom fighters and the founder of the Indian National Army (INA). The day serves as a reminder of his decisive role in India’s freedom struggle and his vision of a strong and self-reliant nation.

‎In recent years, the government has marked the occasion through various events and initiatives aimed at familiarising younger generations with Netaji’s life, leadership and contribution to the independence movement, underscoring his continued relevance in contemporary India.
