Utkala Dibasa, celebrated every year on April 1, marks the formation of Odisha as a separate province in 1936 during British rule, making it the first Indian state created on a linguistic basis. The occasion is observed with cultural events, parades, and tributes to leaders who played a key role in the statehood movement.
Situated on India’s eastern coast, Odisha is renowned for its ancient temples, classical dance traditions such as Odissi, and its vibrant literary culture. In recent years, it has also gained recognition for advancements in disaster management, sports, and industrial development, reflecting its steady growth trajectory.
