The festival has deep roots in Indian culture and mythology, with stories like the bond between Lord Krishna and Draupadi showcasing the spirit of protection and care that Raksha Bandhan embodies.
Today, the festival is celebrated not just between biological siblings but also among friends and those who share a bond of care and loyalty.
On this day, families come together to strengthen bonds, exchange gifts, and share meals. The rituals involve sisters applying tilak on their brothers’ foreheads, performing aarti, and tying the rakhi, while brothers pledge to protect and support their sisters.
